Her father Agamemnon, hero of the Trojan War, has been murdered by her mother. Her brother is in exile. Electra remains in Mycenae, married off to a poor farmer. Vengeance sustains her waking moments. Nightmares feed her sleep. Her father’s palace, now in the hands of a traitor and her lover, looms over her, as a reminder of her family’s bloody history. Her only solace is the hope that her brother will grow up strong and come to aid her in taking their revenge – but even if he does, will that be enough?
