The term "Mediterranean Cuisine" is used when referring to a wide variety of dishes that originate from the countries of the Mediterranean. With many common characteristics, due to the ingredients used, but also with several differences in terms of their combinations, the cuisine of the countries of the Mediterranean basin presents a distinctive diversity that reflexes the multiculturalism of the region in which it was formed.
